Dallas Morning News / Belo To Offer Online Local Marketing Services

Belo Corporation announced via their news property, the Dallas Morning News, that they’re about to start offering online local marketing services to small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) through “LocalEdge“, a Hearst Corporation company:

The Dallas Morning News said it is investing about $3 million to launch LocalEdge’s services to small and local businesses, which includes “website development and maintenance, video, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, mobile advertising and email marketing.”

It remains to be seen if Belo can use LocalEdge to strengthen relationships with the key local advertisers it needs to stop some of the bleeding the company has seen as it has attempted to survive the transition from the print market place to include digital since so many traditional newspaper companies have faltered in recent years.
